Doula: Someone who educates, respects,  listens,   embraces, advocates for and assists a woman in pregnancy, labour, childbirth and after.

WHAT DOES A DOULA DO?

The word 'Doula' is Greek and literally translates to "Servant-Women" proving that from the beginning of time women have supported women during childbirth.

Now, in 2019, a certified doula is recognised as a trained professional who can provide physical, emotional, spiritual and informational support to women and their families at this time. Doulas are a constant reassuring presence during birth, and act as advocates for the family's choices during the pre and post-natal period as well.

Just as I've had the pleasure of being at all of my nephews and nieces' births, I have had the privilege of having my 5 sisters at every one of my own three children's births:

And this is exactly what I want to provide for other women.

Need Support?

THAT'S WHAT I'M HERE FOR

HOW IT WORKS? EASE & FLOW

So how will this work, you ask? I've offered structured packages in the past but experience has taught me that birthing is simply not structured. What works for one woman, most likely won't work for you.

We'll work out a visiting and support system/schedule that synchronises beautifully with both your family's needs as well as mine... because at the end of the day, a perfect doula is one who slots in with ease, and becomes part of the furniture.
